Assistant Principal - Mrs. Parsons

Hello, Welcome Families! I am very excited for the privilege to spend my 18th year in education serving you all as your assistant principal. I am grateful for the chance to partner with our students, staff, and community to continue the strong legacy that is Welcome School. Professionally, I have experienced teaching Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades, served as an instructional coach, and have spent the last 4 years as assistant principal at Midway Elementary. I received my B.A. in Education from Wake Forest University, a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University, and a Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State. I love learning and hope to instill that love and curiosity throughout our school! I was also blessed to spend time working at Baptist Children's Homes of NC while I completed my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. This experience allowed me to grow personally and professionally in ways for which I am forever thankful.

When I'm not at school, you can usually find me soaking up sunshine and laughing with my husband, our boys (ages 6 and 9), and our dogs Hank and Lucy. You may also find me playing Geometry Dash or Stumble Guys, cooking/baking, jamming to Danny Go! or reading Piggy and Gerald, planting flowers, decorating for holidays, or cheering on my Demon Deacons!

I believe that every student is gifted with a unique and valuable set of gifts. I believe that all students are capable of learning and achieving; and that students will rise to high expectations every time. I believe that we all want to do well, kindness matters, and grace is a daily must. I also believe that it is a privilege to partner with parents and our community as we strive to do what is best for students each and every day.

Proud Raider,

Amanda Parsons, MSA
