About Me
I received my undergraduate degree from UNCG in Child Development and Family Relations with K-6 certification. I received my Master's Degree in Language and Literacy (K-12) from Salem College. I taught Kindergarten for ten years in Davidson County before becoming a Reading Interventionist. This is my nineteenth year as a Reading Interventionist. I teach students in several grade levels. I work with small groups of students to support each child in becoming a skilled reader. Last year I completed the LETRS training. LETRS stands for Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling. This training supports teachers in teaching students the skills to master the fundamentals of reading instruction. These fundamentals include: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language. I look forward to an amazing school year!
